Carbon Co-op today has launched it's energshare campaign with an event in Manchester Piccadilly Gardens.
The People's Republic of Energy is our campaign to win the £100,000 prize, we'll use this money to kick start a retrofit programme, reducing household energy bills through roll out of insulation and renewable energy installations. Ultimately residents will save up to 80% off their energy bills.

The event, held in Piccadilly Gardens included banners, flags, balloons and a speech from the People's Republic of Energy 'president' for the day, cartoonist Paul Fitzgerald. Volunteers encouraged passers by to sign up to vote for energyshare.
Manchester City Council executive member for the environment, Councillor Nigel Murphy came down to lend his support and said: "Projects like this are key to lowering the city's carbon emissions and transforming our local economy with green jobs, we wish Carbon Co-op every success in this competition."

Great photos! Hope the day went well for gathering voters to your cause.
