Breadshare is a not-for-profit community-supported bakery in the Scottish Borders. Production operations started just a month ago and business is going well. We have two very hot ovens that produce a lot of wasted heat. We would like to investigate the feasibility of using this energy to heat our water. Perhaps in conjunction with some PV on the roof?
Being a largely volunteer and community-run organisation it is very difficult to find the resources (including time) to put into new funding bids and priority is necessarily given to those things that can grow our business (like equipment) but this shouldn't be the case. Seed funding would allow us to give renewable energy the priority it deserves.
Hi Debrariddell,
Great idea! You might like to have a look at this case study about a community pool - different to your case as using biomass to heat water, but thought it'd be helpful to see the process another community went through and the benefits they achieved. Good luck!

Thanks Heidi - will look at the case study!
